Khalsa College of Education, Muktsar was established in 1956 (the Syndicate of Panjab University granted affiliation to this institution in its meeting on 28th July, 1956). In those times when India was trying to come out from colonial hangover, the great public spirited visionaries like S. Gurdial Singh Sandhu, S.Narinder Singh Brar, Gyani Rattan Singh, S. Harbhagat Singh and S. Khushi Ram Singh dreamt of providing Quality Teacher Education to the people of this educationally backward region of Punjab. The campus which is spreaded over an area of three acres was brought to life by the untiring efforts of these dedicated, devoted, committed and noble souls. Our College is one of the three educational institutions being managed by Khalsa College Council, Muktsar, the other two being Dashmesh Khalsa college, Muktsar and Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Muktsar. The rich legacy and vision of our elders was well carried forward by S. Daljit Singh Sandhu and is being taken to further heights by S. Birinder Singh Brar, President Khalsa College Council and S. Opinderpal Singh Sandhu, General Secretary, Khalsa College Council, Muktsar.
